Linda Lawrence brings more than thirty years of distinguished legal experience to her clients, offering strategic guidance and unwavering support in family law, estate planning, and corporate law matters. She is a Board Certified Family Law Specialist through the Ohio State Bar Association, an honor that reflects her exceptional skill, dedication, and professionalism in this complex area of practice.
Only about 100 attorneys in the entire state of Ohio hold this certification. To qualify, Linda successfully completed a rigorous four-hour examination, completes 12 hours of specialized continuing education each year, and undergoes recertification every six years. That process requires recommendations from at least one family law judge or magistrate and four respected family law peers, underscoring her stature in the legal community.
A proud graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Linda earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and music in 1987, followed by her Juris Doctorate in 1990. Her academic foundation in psychology uniquely informs her empathetic and client-centered approach to law, particularly in sensitive family and custody matters.
Throughout her career, Linda has built a reputation for delivering comprehensive legal solutions tailored to each client’s needs. Her family law practice encompasses divorce, custody and visitation, adoption, and prenuptial agreements. She is also certified in family law mediation and serves as a guardian ad litem, advocating for the best interests of children in court proceedings.
As a trained family law mediator, Linda is well-equipped to guide clients toward win-win settlements—resolving disputes amicably whenever possible. In addition, she regularly appears in court, handling at least one multi-day divorce trial per month. This level of courtroom experience has sharpened her litigation skills and made her a formidable advocate for her clients.
Linda also advises individuals and families in estate planning and provides trusted counsel to businesses navigating corporate legal matters. Before focusing on family law, Linda practiced at a large law firm where she focused on corporate, tax, and estate planning law.
This experience gives her a distinct advantage in high-asset divorces, particularly those involving business ownership or complex financial portfolios. Very few family law attorneys possess this background, making her an invaluable ally for clients who need sophisticated financial insight during a divorce.
Her insights have been widely published through numerous articles on family law and estate planning topics.
Beyond her legal practice, Linda is deeply committed to civic leadership and philanthropy. She has served on the boards of several influential organizations, including Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, Columbus Recreation and Parks, the Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce, Grady Hospital Foundation, the Ohio Health Professional Advisory Committee, and the Franklin County Abused Children Advocacy Board.
Recognized for her community impact, Linda was honored by Business First magazine as one of Columbus’ “40 Under 40” outstanding business and community leaders.
Linda’s passion for service extends to her work on Planned Giving Committees for organizations such as Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, Grady Hospital Foundation, Prevent Blindness Ohio, and The Columbus Academy. She helps ensure the lasting success of charitable missions close to her heart.
Outside of her practice, Linda shares a rich family life with her husband, who is also an attorney, and their four children. Her personal and professional experiences allow her to bring sharp legal acumen and genuine understanding to every client relationship.
